My sister and mother attended a Renaissance themed wedding as part of the hand bell choir.  I designed a dress for my sister, inspired mostly by Italian Renaissance dresses. It is a green brocade top and skirt, with yellow faux silk underskirt, sleeve flounces, and accents. It is fully lined and laced up the front, with the sleeves also being attached with only lacing. All the gold trim is sewn down by hand.
My mother's lined top and pleated plaid skirt are mostly from Celtic influences.
All of us then attended an SCA (Society for Creative Anachronisms) event. Those two wore the dresses I had made for them for the wedding. My father decided to join us at the last minute, so I had him wear his costume from the Stargate convention, with a few additions and a change of hat.
I created a Norse-inspired out fit for myself, using the chain maille shirt I had made for myself the past year, over a cotton shirt and pants. I added vinyl strapping to my pants and made myself some armour. The bracers are each made from five steel pieces, with holes drilled though and tied to vinyl strips to make splint armour. The hip pieces are made of the same steel, tied to a leather belt and accented with faux fur.

This dress was inspired by the styles of the 1850's and 60's.  The dress is a cotton floral print with cotton lining, metal buttons, and white lace.  It took around 11 hours to make.  In the first image, I wore a hoop skirt underneath, which I had made a couple of years before.  In the rest of the pictures, I wore a netting underskirt instead, to make it easier to maneuver in crowed places. Most of the pictures were taken in the historic Tanner House, in Aurora, at their annual 4th of July open house, with the except of the two with the hoops, which would be nearly impossible to get into the car. In the first image, I applied a few photo effects to make it appear as an old photograph.
This is my sailor dress, a simple outfit I made for summer out of some leftover blue twill.
